This week features some stuff from last week as well, but in general they are "recent announcements."
If we missed anything in this post, please feel free to add a comment below. In the future, if you have any relevant links or topics that you think we should be aware of, please contact us or direct your info to us on twitter.
Enjoy!
DotNetNuke Community Happenings
- Will Strohl announced that the Day of DotNetNuke Florida won’t be happening this year, despite the success of last years event.
- The organizers of the St. Louis and Chicago DotNetNuke User groups have teamed up to bring you the Day of DotNetNuke Chicago on October 2nd, 2010. This will be the first Day of DotNetNuke conference for the Midwest region. Also, the call for speakers is now open.
- Recently Oliver Hine released a new version of his Advanced Control Panel (v1.2.0). This is definitely a crowd-pleasing extension for DNN, so if you haven’t checked it out, head on over to his site for the free download.
- The DotNetNuke core Event module version 5.1.4 was released last Friday. Kudos to the team led by Ernst Peter Tamminga!
- Vasilis Terzopoulos from ThinkOfDesign has updated his skinning reference toolkit. It now features an attribute editor so you can generate custom code snippets! We highly recommend it for beginners to DotNetNuke skinning.
- Here in St. Louis, the Mobile DotNetNuke Hackathon is coming up next week. You can read the official announcement on DotNetNuke.com, and check out the event details on the St. Louis DotNetNuke User Group website. The event will feature an orientation to Appcelerator, a tool that helps to build native mobile apps. To give you a head start, Joe Brinkman recently blogged Accelerating Mobile Application Development and Chris Hammand blogged Getting Started with Appcelerator Titanium. Bring on the mobile with DNN and be sure to make it to the meeting if you’re in the area, or check out the streaming video online.
- Will Strohl recently shared his experience in Customizing the Telerik RadEditor in DNN. He provides a very clean and simple alternative Telerik configuration. This is a quick and easy way to make basic DotNetNuke content administration easier.
- DotNetNuke Connections is coming up this November in Las Vegas. Recently Bill Walker provided information about a Discounted Room Rate that is available until August 16th.
- Will Strohl has also been blogging about running User Groups recently, so if you're interested in starting one, or making yours better, give them a read. Check out the latest, Hosting Your User Group for Free.
